Our History

Le Petit Manoir du Casino opens its doors in June 1995 thanks to the initiative of Denis Beaubien, a visionary entrepreneur from Trois-Rivières. Located on Boulevard des Falaises in Pointe-au-Pic, the 76-room hotel quickly becomes a sought-after destination. With its exceptional view of the St. Lawrence River and its proximity to the Charlevoix Casino, the project marks a turning point for local tourism.

To respond to a growing and diversified clientele, two pavilions totaling 77 units are added. Offering kitchenette, fireplace, and therapeutic bath, these rooms are ideal for extended stays. Built on the edge of a cliff, the pavilions enjoy a splendid view of the river and are accessible on foot or by shuttle from the main building.

An accidental fire completely ravages the main hotel. The fire breaks out in the attic and destroys the structure in a few hours. Thanks to a rapid evacuation, there are fortunately no injuries. The event is a shock for the community, occurring during the preparation of the tourist season.

More than a year after the fire, a brand new hotel sees the light of day in May 2015, in time to mark the 20th anniversary of Petit Manoir du Casino. The modern building has 113 rooms and a vast 270-seat restaurant. The new establishment combines comfort, modernity, and accessibility.

The O’Quartz Spa opens its doors, a first in Quebec. Nestled within the Pointe-au-Pic cliff, it offers a unique microclimate concept, with natural waterfall, heated pools, dry saunas, and relaxation areas. The spa becomes a strong signature of the experience offered by the establishment.

The pavilions are given a facelift with a complete update of the rooms, the addition of outdoor spas, and the development of a new family room.

Outdoor spas, a fireplace area, and a new family room are being added to the Pavilions. A brand new convivial lounge area and a wine vending machine are being added to the hotel main building.

Simultaneously, the O’Quartz Spa gets a makeover: enhanced spaces, redesigned multisensory experience, and even more immersive ambiance.

In 2025, Petit Manoir du Casino celebrates 30 years of history, resilience, and innovation. To mark the event, several other novelties see the light of day: important work at O’Quartz Spa and collaborations with regional event partners. A new page is written, in the continuity of a family passion still very much alive.

The history of Petit Manoir du Casino is above all that of a family passion. Founded by Denis Beaubien in 1995, the establishment is now directed by the second generation of the family, namely Sylvie Beaubien, Nathalie Beaubien, Alexandra Béliveau Beaubien, and Nicolas Béliveau Beaubien who perpetuate the values of authenticity, hospitality, and innovation that have made the hotel successful since its beginnings.

This family continuity is reflected in the attention paid to every detail and in the warm welcome reserved for our clients. Over the years and despite challenges, such as the 2014 fire, the original vision has remained intact: to offer an authentic Charlevoix experience in an exceptional setting between the river and the mountains.
